Trump praised the UAE’s early participation and said the agreements had held firm despite regional tensions.

“Well, I'd love to have them. This is a man who's very advanced. He was early in, and he's done very well with them, the whole, the Abraham Accords,” he said.

"Do you notice that even during that period of conflict, nobody dropped out? Nobody said, oh, gee, I'm going to drop out. Nobody. I think they're all going to come in, you know, into the Abraham. The only conflict was a place called Iran. And I understand that. You know, it was a little bit tough when people were afraid of Iran."

“I think they're all going to come in, you know, into the Abraham," he added.

The Abraham Accords, launched in 2020, established formal relations between Israel and several Arab states including the UAE, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan.

Trump did not name any specific countries he expects to join next."

<media:keywords>Viory</media:keywords>
Kazan opens its doors! - Vietnamese PM welcomed at airport ahead of ASEAN-Russia Summit

Kazan opens its doors! - Vietnamese PM welcomed at airport ahead of ASEAN-Russia Summit

"*TO FOLLOW*"

<media:keywords>Viory</media:keywords>
Violet voyage – Visitors flock to ROK's Donghae to experience lavender in full bloom

Violet voyage – Visitors flock to ROK's Donghae to experience lavender in full bloom

"A breathtaking sea of violet sweeps through Donghae City on the east-central coast of South Korea as the Mureung Byeolyucheonji Lavender Festival bursts into full bloom.

Footage captured on Monday showcases a sprawling 20,000-square-metre field nestled within a former emerald-lake quarry, transformed into a shimmering, fragrant oasis. Visitors wander through the purple fields, taking photos and videos as they go.

Visitor Lee Mi-kyung shared, "I’ve lived in Gangwon Province for 30 years, but I never knew a place like this existed. I’m so happy to be here. I came with my mother, enjoying the lavender, smelling the flowers, and relieving stress. It’s truly wonderful. I hope more people come and visit."

"I saw it so often on Instagram, but when I actually came here, the lavenders were abundant and incredibly beautiful," said fellow visitor Choi Na-eun.

Shin Nam-gil expressed, "First of all, it’s beautifully decorated, the scent is wonderful, and there are plenty of booths and activities too. It feels like a fantastic place to visit. I highly recommend it!"

The festival wraps up on June 21. Footage captured in Hama province shows protesters gathering outside the provincial government building, before marching through the streets carrying Syrian flags and flags associated with Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham.

Similar demonstrations were reported in Damascus, Idlib, Aleppo, Homs and other provinces.

"Our demand here is clear: to hold the shabbiha (thugs) accountable and to remove anyone proven to be involved," a protester said.

"We cannot accept the return of anyone who was part of the former regime or supported it to any position again. We reject any figures from that regime taking posts in the current state institutions," protester Fares Shaheen added.

Interior Ministry spokesperson Nour al-Din al-Baba said that "holding accountable those who committed crimes against the Syrian people is a right of the victims, while the implementation of this right remains the responsibility of the state and its judicial and security institutions."

President Ahmed al-Sharaa also warned against using transitional justice to pursue revenge.

During a meeting with community leaders from the Damascus countryside, he said: "It is important that transitional justice is not used as a pretext for revenge or as a means of domination, because in that case we would have confronted injustice with another injustice."

Syria has faced months of security unrest, with media and social media reports of attacks targeting people and property associated with the former government, as well as members of religious minority communities.

Ahmed al-Sharaa was appointed transitional president on January 29, 2025, and announced a new transitional government two months later."

<media:keywords>Viory</media:keywords>
Twice denied, twice back! - Iran rescues 2-2 draw against New Zealand in World Cup opener despite political baggage

Twice denied, twice back! - Iran rescues 2-2 draw against New Zealand in World Cup opener despite political baggage

"Iran opened its 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign with a 2-2 draw against New Zealand in Los Angeles on Monday, as supporters gathered to welcome the team amid political tensions surrounding its participation in the tournament.

Footage shows a protester calling for revolution and regime change in Iran ahead of kick-off, while nearby fans carrying Iranian flags queue to enter the stadium.

Meanwhile, heavy security is visible around the Westdrift Manhattan Beach, the Iranian team's hotel, with police patrols, tape barriers and a SWAT presence in place before the squad's arrival.

Despite the tight security, supporters gathered nearby, waving national colours, posing for photographs and chanting "Iran, Iran!" as the team bus passed by.

"We're excited for them to be here and play in the World Cup. They're strong team, very good team. And we wish them luck and a great match," said fan Mohammad.

He added: "I think they have an opportunity. The team clearly had some disruptions in the recent few months. But the team is strong. They can be competitive. So they should have an opportunity to do that. I hope they do."

On the pitch, New Zealand's Elijah Just opened the scoring in the seventh minute before doubling his tally early in the second half, clipping the ball over goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand.

Iran responded on both occasions. Veteran wing-back Ramin Rezaeian first levelled with a composed finish using the outside of his boot following a first-half hydration break. He then turned provider, delivering an inch-perfect cross that Mohammad Mohebbi powered in off the far post to secure a share of the points.

The 2-2 result leaves all four teams in Group G level on one point after Belgium and Egypt also drew their opening match."

<media:keywords>Viory</media:keywords>
Grill and bear it! – Iran football chief BARRED from US finds warm welcome and friendship at Tijuana taco event

Grill and bear it! – Iran football chief BARRED from US finds warm welcome and friendship at Tijuana taco event

"First Vice President of Iran Football Federation Mehdi Mohammad Nabi and Ambassador to Mexico Abolfazl Pasandideh cheered passionately with fellow fans at a World Cup taco grill event in Tijuana on Monday.
This comes after Nabi was one of 15 members of the team's delegation denied entry to the US, forcing the squad to move its base from Tucson, Arizona, to Tijuana, Mexico.
“From the day we arrived here, we feel like we are in the same country,” Nabi stated, adding, “We have found a very deep friendship in the hearts of Mexicans and Iranians.”
Footage shows dozens of Iranian supporters erupting in cheers and groans, overcome with emotion at every dramatic twist in the tense match between Iran and New Zealand, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
“Unfortunately, our team, our national team, has had many obstacles along the way. It has faced several challenges, but we are a very experienced team; we are professionals,” Nabi said. “We, on behalf of the team, let's say the management, are going to do everything possible to ensure the players aren't distracted and that they fully concentrate on the game.”
New Zealand took an early lead in when winger Elijah Just broke the deadlock. Iran fought back twice to level the scores in a back-and-forth encounter, with Mohammad Mohebi bagging the final goal in the 64th minute.
The result leaves all four teams in Group G level on a point apiece, following Belgium and Egypt's own draw in their opening fixture.
The Iranian Ambassador was also present, praising the Mexican hospitality, adding that “our team is going to miss the good people of Tijuana a lot.”
Pasandideh went on to welcome the recent agreement to halt hostilities between Tehran and Washington, stressing that 'in a war, nobody wins'. According to the diplomat, the sides are currently working on the terms.
“Obviously one of the benefits will be that they will commit to not attacking Iran again. For that same reason, the US military bases around Iran will also be evacuated, which could also be a gain. And we've also realised that having access to nuclear science and enrichment is legitimate, it's a legitimate right of Iran that is already being recognised,” he claimed.
It comes after Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Sunday that the United States and Iran had reached what he described as a peace agreement.
He said the deal included "the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon," and added that Pakistan would host a signing ceremony in Geneva later this week.
US President Donald Trump also confirmed that the deal with Iran had been finalised, saying the Strait of Hormuz has been reopened after the naval blockade was immediately lifted.
The Iranian Supreme National Security Council secretariat said in a statement that the official signing of the memorandum of understanding with Washington is scheduled for Friday, June 19.
It added that final agreement negotiations would be postponed "after the other side implements its commitments stipulated in the MoU.""

<media:keywords>Viory</media:keywords>
Cap-tivating! – Indian college students pay tribute to football greats with epic bottle-top art

Cap-tivating! – Indian college students pay tribute to football greats with epic bottle-top art

"In a stunning display of football fandom and sustainable creativity, Nirmala College in Muvattupuzha, Kerala, northwest India, has unveiled a massive 1,000-square-foot portrait of football legends Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Neymar Jr.

Drone footage captured on Tuesday reveals the sprawling artwork in the college grounds, where thousands of colourful bottle caps form a striking pixel-style mosaic of the three football icons.

Students and visitors can be seen crowding around, taking photos of the giant installation below.

The project was led by artist and Nirmala College alumnus Ajay V John, who worked alongside students to create the piece over six months.

According to organisers, more than 106,000 discarded bottle caps were collected from local shops and scrap dealers before being cleaned, sorted and painted for use in the artwork.

Originally conceived as a tribute to what the team believed could be the players' final World Cup appearances, the project also promotes environmental awareness and the principle of 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle'.

"We will be exhibiting this artwork at Nirmala College until the World Cup ends. After that, we plan to showcase it in different regions of India to spread our 'waste-to-wonder' message across the country," John said.

To create the mosaic, students first mapped a digital design onto a grid covering the basketball court. The bottle caps were then colour-coded and arranged as individual pixels before being fixed into place.

"We cleaned the caps we collected, but there were only 15 of us doing the cleaning. Afterwards, we sorted them neatly, keeping only the good caps. To attach the caps to each board, we recruited around 200 students from the college, and it took us three days to stick all 242 boards together," said team member Nandhana Shaju.

The finished installation celebrates three of football's biggest stars while showcasing how discarded materials can be transformed into large-scale public art."

<media:keywords>Viory</media:keywords>
'We squandered several easy chances' - Egypt fans rue missed opportunities after 1-1 Belgium draw

'We squandered several easy chances' - Egypt fans rue missed opportunities after 1-1 Belgium draw

"Thousands of Egyptian fans packed a public viewing zone in the New Administrative Capital on Monday to watch their national team open their 2026 World Cup campaign with a 1-1 draw against Belgium.

Footage shows supporters filling the stands, singing, dancing and waving Egyptian flags as they followed the action.

"Given the results of the pre-tournament friendly matches, the performance today was expected," Egyptian fan Haitham Hussam said. "We squandered several easy chances to score today, but God willing we will win in the next fixtures against Iran and New Zealand."

"The players were tough and performed well during the first half. We let a lot of easy opportunities slip away. Had we taken advantage of those opportunities; we would have led the group easily," Egyptian fan Mahmoud Mohammed added.

Emam Ashour fired the Pharaohs ahead in the 19th minute with a spectacular strike, before Belgium equalised in the second half through Mohamed Hany's own goal.

New Zealand and Iran drew 2-2 in the group's other opening match, leaving all four teams on one point. Egypt next face New Zealand before taking on Iran in their final Group G fixture.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup runs until July 19 across the United States, Canada and Mexico. It is the first edition of the tournament to feature 48 teams."

<media:keywords>Viory</media:keywords>
One African Sky - Industry leaders, officials call for lower aviation taxes, fuel costs at Lome Air Summit

One African Sky - Industry leaders, officials call for lower aviation taxes, fuel costs at Lome Air Summit

"African leaders and aviation officials called for immediate cuts to aviation taxes and fuel costs to boost connectivity, trade and economic integration across the continent, speaking at the African Air Transport Convention & Expo 2026 in Lome on Monday.

Faure Essozimna Gnassingbe, President of the Council of Ministers of Togo, warned that policy agreements are 'useless' if citizens remain priced out.

"Opening up African skies is necessary, but an open sky can, in practice, remain difficult to access if airline tickets remain too expensive," Gnassingbe said. "An overpriced ticket <...> is a real barrier for entrepreneurs, tourism and families.”

Rwanda's President Paul Kagame criticised the high taxes and bureaucratic hurdles choking intra-African flight routes.

"Taxes and fees on air travel in Africa are among the highest in the world," he stressed, adding, "A single market works best when rules and standards are predictable and consistent."

Aviation officials noted that lowering prices to achieve true regional connectivity requires tackling energy dependencies and a lack of market competition.

"Apart from Nigeria, which has started to do so thanks to Mr [Aliko] Dangote, we do not produce aviation fuel. Jet fuel is imported," said Abdou Ahabou Idrissou, Director General of the Togo Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC).

The five-day summit, which runs until June 19 under the theme 'One African Sky', aims to move the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM) from rhetoric to execution, bringing together more than 500 delegates, including transport ministers and airline executives."
